    Insurance services are available for free or at a charge.

      Examples of insurance fee

      If the damage compensation amount (total declared value) is JPY 15,000, we will compensate for free.

      Insurance fee

      increases by JPY 50 for every additional JPY 20,000

      Compensation amount

      The logistics company will compensate based on the declared price of the package and the extent of the loss.

      You need to contact SF Express customer service yourself.

      Examples of insurance fee

      When the total declared value is JPY 80,000, you will need to pay JPY 500 as an insurance fee.

    • If the total declared value exceeds JPY 100,000

      Insurance fee

      JPY total declared value × 0.005

      Compensation amount

      The logistics company will compensate based on the declared price of the package and the extent of the loss.

      You need to contact SF Express customer service yourself.

      Examples of insurance fee

      When the total declared amount is JPY 120,000, you are required to pay JPY 600 as an insurance fee. 120,000×0.005 = 600

      Note

      The declared value must be filled in with the correct amount, with a maximum limit of JPY 10,000,000.
      Please note that we cannot compensate in the following cases。

      • Regulated items prohibited for export

      • Fragile items, e.g., ceramics, glass products, plaster products, etc.

      • Items that are difficult to preserve, such as fresh produce, specialty products, and seafood etc.

      Compensation amount

      If you wish to insure against loss or damage during transportation, you can be compensated up to JPY 10,000.

Yamato Transport

There is no optional insurance available from Yamato Transport.
Yamato Transport's "Takkyubin" service includes compensation up to 300,000 yen as part of the basic service.
If the received package is damaged, please have the invoice (waybill) number ready and contact Yamato Transport's service center.

AIR Mail and Sea Mail services can accept a free actual loss amount cap compensation service, separate from the insurance service.
